Principal Scott Hand, AIA provides architectural design and project management for all project types and specializes in architectural acoustics and the performing arts, including arts centers, university buildings, recording studios, school auditoria, and live entertainment venues. Scott is an experienced theater architect, and planner. He has managed projects for facilities of many different scales, including adaptive reuse projects, renovations, and projects with historic structures. He has a BS in Architecture and Master of Architecture degrees from the University of Cincinnati.
After an internship at Acoustic Dimensions (now Acoustic Distinctions), Scott gained 8 years of experience at Morris Architects Planners in Chicago, IL, working exclusively on performing arts facilities and as a theater architect. He coordinated teams of consultants and was responsible for programming, design, and construction documentation for dozens of projects and studies. As a principal at Childress & Cunningham, he manages projects from conception through construction.
Scott is also co-owner of Urban Artifact, a craft brewery and music venue in Cincinnati. Housing both a 250-person music venue space and a 400-seat performance space/reception hall, he is responsible for performance and music scheduling, event coordination, technical design, and production management.
