The City of Sharonville, Ohio renovated the 14,000 sq. ft. original building with a major addition of 38,000 sq. ft. designed by a multi-disciplinary team led by Roger L. Kerlin, AIA.
Included in the addition is a double gymnasium, a four-lane running/walking track, an aerobics dance and martial arts room, and a fitness center with cardiovascular and weight training equipment.
Maintaining control of the center’s activities was a key design criterion. This was achieved by positioning staff control areas at critical points to visually monitor activity. Providing durable, abuse-resistant finish materials and equipment was a second design criterion.
